CSV and Excel import
Portifer imports companies, contacts, recipients and products from CSV and Excel files, suggests a column mapping, and lets you confirm it before anything is created.
Where to set it up
Dashboard → Data (import centre), or the import button on the companies, recipients and products pages.
What you can import
| Data | Formats | Limit per file |
|---|---|---|
| Companies and contacts | CSV, .xlsx (first sheet) | 10 MB |
| Campaign contacts | CSV, .xlsx | 10 MB, 5,000 rows |
| Recipients | CSV or pasted text | 1,000 rows |
| Box recipients | CSV (template provided) | 5 MB, 5,000 rows |
| Products | CSV, .xlsx or pasted CSV | 1,000 rows |
Column mapping
- Header rows are detected automatically and a mapping is suggested, including common Nordic header names.
- You confirm the mapping before import.
- Companies are merged by organisation number or name; duplicate emails within a file are skipped.
Limits to know about
- Old .xls files are not supported for company import; save them as .xlsx or CSV first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I import from another gifting or seeding tool?
Yes, if that tool exports to CSV or Excel. Export your contacts or recipients there, then import the file into Portifer and confirm the column mapping.
